Welcome to MIST Primary and Secondary:

Established under the umbrella of the Makeni Islamic Society Trust (MIST), our schools are dedicated to providing quality education that blends academic excellence with strong Islamic values. For decades, MIST has been a center of learning and growth for children from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from underprivileged communities, with over 90% of students supported through bursaries.

At MIST Primary and Secondary, we are committed to shaping future leaders who excel both in knowledge (Ilm) and in faith (Deen), preparing them to contribute positively to society.

Primary Section (Grades 1–7):

Building Foundations in Knowledge, Character, and Faith

The Primary School serves as the foundation for academic success and moral development. With a curriculum aligned to the Zambian National Curriculum, enriched by Islamic Studies, Qur’an recitation, and Arabic language, our program develops curiosity, confidence, and discipline in young learners.

From Grade 1 to Grade 4, boys and girls learn together, fostering collaboration and mutual respect. From Grade 5 onwards, students are taught separately to ensure focused and value-driven learning.

Secondary Section (Form 1–Grade 12))

Equipping Students for a Future of Excellence

MIST Secondary provides a holistic education that empowers learners with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed in today’s world while remaining grounded in Islamic identity.

Junior Secondary (Form 1–Grade 9):

Students follow the Zambian ECZ Curriculum, preparing them for national examinations and instilling a strong sense of identity, responsibility, and social awareness.

Senior Secondary (Grades 10–12):

We emphasize academic rigor through sciences, humanities, and technical subjects while ensuring moral development through Islamic Studies and mentorship. Students are guided towards tertiary education, vocational training, or leadership roles in society.
