The Dawah Department of Makeni Islamic Society Trust (MIST) serves as the central pillar for Islamic outreach, education, and community empowerment within the organisation. Rooted in the sacred duty of inviting to the path of Allah with wisdom and compassion, our department is committed to nurturing faith, strengthening Islamic identity, and promoting social upliftment through knowledge, service, and moral guidance.
Our mission is to provide sound Islamic education, spiritual support, and social services to both Muslims and non-Muslims. We focus on inclusive and transformative programmes that cater to the diverse needs of the community, particularly those seeking knowledge, support, and a renewed sense of purpose in life.
We conduct regular prison visits where we offer Islamic classes, moral counselling, and spiritual rehabilitation to inmates. Our aim is to instill hope, reform, and guidance rooted in Islamic teachings. This initiative plays a key role in helping inmates reconnect with their Creator and prepare for reintegration into society with improved character.
Specialised 3-5 periods weekly classes are organised for adult male and female reverts and elderly Muslims aged 25 years and above. The programme covers essential topics including:
Enrolment Criteria and Process: (current enrolment is 290 males and females.)
Course Fee: K1,500 per person per term (covering teaching materials, stationery, and admin costs)
