ABOUT MADRASAH ANWAARUL ISLAMM

The Madrasah was established under the umbrella of Makeni Islamic Society Trust in the year 1976 to support the community in teaching our next generation about the beautiful religion of Islam.

SYLLABUS

Through the guidance of our learned scholars, we have adopted a specific syllabus that is according to the teachings of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamah.

In brief, our syllabus comprises covers these various areas;

 

Qur’aan Nazrah and Hifz

Our syllabus starts from the basics of Qaidah and gradually progresses to Nazrah (Qur’aan reading) and finally to Hifz (memorization). Students advance through structured levels from Nursery to Grade 7, and those who wish continue into Hifz classes. All recitation follows Hafs ‘an ‘Asim, the most widely used Qiraa’ah globally, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and proper pronunciation.

 

Mutafarriqat

In this section, children learn important Duas and Surahs that are recited in daily life as well as on special occasions. They are also guided in Islamic manners (Aadaab) such as greeting, cleanliness, and respectful behavior. In addition, students are taught the practical aspects of worship, including how to perform Wudhu and Salah correctly, helping them apply Islamic teachings in their everyday routines.

Kitab/Islamic Studies

The Islamic Studies syllabus is broad and covers many topics, both in Urdu and English, namely;

  • Aqaaid –the basic foundations of the Islamic Beliefs
  • Fiqh –various aspects of Islamic Worship. The Fiqh syllabus taught is according to the Hanafi school of thought
  • Seerah and Tareekh –the children aretaught about the lives of the previous prophets, the Seerah of the Prophet (SAW) and the lives of the companions

ADMISSION POLICY

Due to limited space, we are restricted to a specific number of students per class. Thus,we havea strict admission policyaimed at ensuringthat afair criterion is used to determine the admissions.

  1. Buy an admission form from the Madrasah administration office.
  2. The minimum age of admission in the Nursery sectionis four (4) years. Any application from Grade 1 to Hifz class will be subjected to an oral test. Only if the child is capable of the grade applied for will the Madrasah put him/her in that grade. If not, then the Head will decide the best way forward for the betterment of the child.
  3. Upon acceptance, the parent will have to pay the registration and the term fee before entry into class.
